James "J.T." Troy Dickerson was born Dec. 3, 1941, to Ottis Troy and Jewell R. Lee (Patterson) Dickerson in Coal Hill. He served in the Army National Guard. He was a native of Johnson County, where he graduated from Clarksville High School in 1959. On May 26, 1961, he married Ruth Ann Menasco-Dickerson. They were married 57 years. He was employed by Clarksville Shoe Corp. and later, Stephens Production Co. He retired as a supervisor for Greenville Tube Corp. in 2004. In retirement, he enjoyed working on Looper Farms. He was an avid bowler and fisherman. He loved traveling to cheer on his grandkids at any type of sporting events. He was an avid Razorback fan and newly found Oklahoma State University Cowboy fan. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Sallisaw, where he was a member of United Methodist Men and a volunteer for the Construction Zone children's ministry.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth Ann Menasco-Dickerson; daughter, Debra (Dickerson) Bartel of Sallisaw; brother, Bob Dickerson and wife Juanita of Clarksville; sister, Sue Linn and husband Jodie of Bee Branch; grandchildren, Jason Bartel of Sallisaw; Jacob Bartel and wife Paige of Sallisaw; Megan Bartel-Werschem and husband A.D. of Mustang, Okla.; and great-grandchildren, Lane Troy Bartel, Charles Ryder Werschem, Maddox Werschem, Matthew Werschem, Michael Werschem.

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Hardwicke Funeral Home Chapel in Clarksville.

Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Hardwicke Funeral Home Chapel in Clarksville with the Rev. Jim Hollifield officiating. Burial will follow at Oakland Cemetery in Clarksville.

Pallbearers will be Jacob Bartel, Jason Bartel, A.D. Werschem, Mike Dickerson, Caleb Dickerson and Travis Linn.

Honorary pallbearers will be Mason Linn, Dewayne Estep, Chuck Larrison and Brian Waddle.
