Billy Doyle Carr, 99, of West Helena, AR, went to be with the Lord Tuesday, January 23, 2018. He was born December 2, 1918, in Rector, AR to the late Charles and Henrietta M. Carr. Billy was preceded in death by his sister, Mrs. Dorothea McClure of West Helena, AR and brother, Don Carr of South Africa.

Billy was a WWII B-17 co-pilot of the Eighth Air Force, 452 Bomb Group. He was stationed in Deopham Green, England where he flew 32 missions and was shot down twice. Billy was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross, Oakleaf Cluster, and Purple Heart. From about 12 years of age Billy hunted in the St. Francis and White River Area. His love for the outdoors lead him to become a master marksman, gunsmith, bullet reloader, knife maker, and an avid hunter.

Left to cherish his memory is his loving family, son, Bill Carr and his wife Priscilla of Albuquerque, N.M., daughter, Vicki Longing and her husband Ernie of Russellville, AR, 7 grandchildren, and several great grandchildren.

Memorial Service will be held Monday, January 29, 2018 at 1:00 pm at Twin City Church of Christ in West Helena, AR.
