Fort Smith police are trying to identify several people suspected to be involved in several thefts from businesses throughout the state, including at least two locally.

The people captured in surveillance stills visited JC Penney in Fort Smith seven times from June 19-July 9 and stole Nike items valued at $14,350. They also stole several shirts and shorts from Academy in Fort Smith, according to a Police Department news release.

The people are also believed to have hit an employee during a theft at JC Penney in Fayetteville, the release states.

Anyone with information about the people or incidents is asked to call the Police Department at (479) 709-5100. Callers may also contact Fort Smith Crime Stoppers at 78-CRIME, where they could be rewarded up to $1,000 if they have information that leads to an arrest.
