There are plenty of deals to be had as Payless ShoeSource winds down operations.
One Kansas woman took advantage of those bargains to help victims of Nebraska's historic flooding.
Addy Tritt popped into a Payless store in Hays, Kan., and discovered the store was selling remaining shoes for $1 a pair.
There were about 200 pairs of shoes left and, after talking with store workers, she was able to buy all of them for just $100, TV station WFTV reported.
The shoes — along with other items collected by the Sigma Alpha sorority at Fort Hays State University — are bound for Nebraskans in need after rivers overflowed their banks last month, causing millions in damage.
Had they been purchased at full price, WFTV says the shoes Tritt snagged for $100 would've sold for an estimated $6,000.
