Steven Baylark was born on May 8, 1956 to the late Bernice and Johnnie Baylark, Sr. in Helena, Arkansas.

Steven grew up in Helena, Arkansas. He attended New Light Baptist Church, where he served faithfully as an usher, a befitting position for Steven, before moving away and after returning home. Steven was educated in the Helena-West Helena School System. He was a proud graduate of the Central High School Class of 1974. Steven enlisted in the United States Army after high school. He returned home from his tour of duty in the United States Army and continued his education. Steven graduated from Phillips Community College and UAPB.

Steven eventually moved to Little Rock, Arkansas, where he worked and lived for several years. He returned to Helena in 2008. He was currently employed at Mid-Delta Community Services. Steven was an active and committed volunteer at Freedom for Youth, Inc.

Steven was a servant, very accommodating and always willing to help and meet the needs of others. Steven never met a stranger. He was always laughing, joking and making others laugh. Steven had a talent for drawing and painting. Steven was loved by everybody and he will truly be missed.

Steven is preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Johnnie Baylark, Sr., a sister, Doris Baylark-Hasan, and a brother, David Baylark. Steven departed this life on Friday, February 22, 2019.

Steven leaves to cherish his memory, four sisters; Betty Darnell(Walter) of Helena, AR, Carolyn Beene of Charlotte, NC, Rose Buford(Edward) of West Helena, AR, Earline Baylark of Little Rock, AR; two brothers, Johnnie Baylark, Jr. of Downers Groves, IL, Danelle Baylark of Little Rock, AR, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and many dear friends.

 Funeral services for Steven Baylark will be held at 11:00 a.m. at New Light M.B. Church on Saturday, March 2, 2019. Rev. David Featherstone will officiate. Interment will be at Jackson Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday, March 1, 2019 from 5:00 p.m. -7:00 p.m. at Brown's Funeral Home. Family and friends may sign the guestbook
