A graveside service was held for Oleta Gideon Reeves at Oak Grove Cemetery in Moro, Arkansas on Monday, July 2, 2018 with Bro. Craig Routon officiating. Oleta Gideon Reeves was born July 11, 1930 in Aubrey, Arkansas to the late Ernest Grady Gideon and the late Dora Mae Houston Gideon. She graduated from Moro High School and supported her family as a seamstress until retirement, after which, she became an in-home caregiver.
She lived most of her life in Lee County, Arkansas and in West Helena, Arkansas before relocating to Abbeville, Mississippi, where she departed this life with family by her side on June 28, 2018. Anyone who knew her, knew she had great faith in God and love for family. She enjoyed playing with her grandchildren, reading and watching wrestling.
Along with both parents, Oleta Gideon Reeves is preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Reeves; three sons: Charles, David and Bill; two sisters: Laudean and Ernese; two grandchildren: Keith and Blake and one great-grandson, Christian.
Left to cherish her memory are her children: Debbie Scaife (Jerry), Eddie Reeves (Angela) and a daughter-in-law, Lisa Reeves; her grandchildren: Ricky Reeves (Sybil), Joey Reeves, Shannon Sorsby, Chelsey Brown (Jason), Bradi Griffin (Josh), Rebecca Wilkerson, Jessica Walls (Bobby), April Griffis (William) and Shannon Scaife; and a host of great-grandchildren, beloved relatives, neighbors and friends.
Arrangements were entrusted to Kincaid Funeral Services.
