Missionary Gladys Eva Dale Jackson of Elaine, Arkansas was born April 1, 1943. Her parents were Moses Jackson Sr. and Pearla Ardene Glass Jackson. She is preceded in death by her parents and four siblings: Ivory Jackson, John Jackson Sr., David Jackson Sr., and Emanuel Jackson Sr.

Missionary Jackson confessed a hope in Christ at an early age. Her faith journey started at New Canaan Missionary Baptist Church, under the leadership of the late Elder D.S. Allen. Later she joined St. Luke Church of God in Christ, under the leadership of the late Elder Robert Tackett. She remained a faithful member there for many years, until she united with the Lakeview Church of God in Christ, under the leadership of Elder Ruben Anderson. She rendered her service as a church Missionary, program writer, teacher in the Women’s Mission and Sunday school. Missionary Jackson served in each of these capacities dutifully and faithfully.

Missionary Jackson was united in marriage to George Blocker Sr. and to this union eight children were born. Years later, the marriage ended in a divorce. However, she never stopped raising her children in Godly wisdom and love. She was the best mother any of her children could ask for. The majority of her time was spent with her children. She made sure all of their needs were met, even if she had to do without. She taught them the Word of God and lead by example. When her health started to fail, she relocated to Pine Bluff, AR, where she resided with her daughter Jacklyn, and her son-in-law Johnnie Scaife until her death.

Missionary Jackson leaves to cherish her memory her children all in the state of AR: Three Daughters: Mammie Swanigan (Tim) of Lakeview; Brenda Mitchell (Nazareth) of Lexa; Jacklyn Scaife (Johnnie) of Pine Bluff; Five Sons: George Darrin Blocker Jr (Mary) of Helena; Elliott Blocker (Regina) of Little Rock; Martin Blocker of Lakeview; Stanley Blocker (Special Friend, Felecia Lewis) West Helena; Jackye Blocker of Helena.
