Funeral services for James Melvin Ewing will be held at 2:30pm on Saturday, May 19, 2018 at the P.L.M.&D District Center. Rev. Calvin Frierson will officiate. Burial will be at Poplar Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00pm-8:00pm on Friday, May 18, 2018 at Brown's Chapel. 


James Melvin Ewing of Conway, AR,  was born on October 8, 1962 to the late Earlene and Leslie Ewing, Sr. in Marvell, Arkansas.

James accepted Christ at an early age at Star of Bethlehem Church under the leadership of the late Rev. C.B. Bingham.

James was a proud graduate of the Barton High School Class of 1981. After high school, he attended truck driving school and obtained his license. He proudly drove trucks for more than thirty years. James made his home in Conway, Arkansas for over twenty-two years. James loved truck driving, riding motorcycles and spending time with his family and friends. 

James answered his heavenly call on Sunday, May 13, 2018

James is preceded in death by, his parents; Earlene and Leslie Ewing, Sr., brothers, Leodis Carruth, Leslie Ewing, Jr., Jerry Lee Ewing, and a sister, Arlene Ewing.

He leaves to cherish his memory, a son, James Ewing, Jr., a daughter, Lakendra Ewing; grandchildren, D’Quavyn Hubbard and Ar’marian Bell; brothers, Roy(Della)Ewing of Chicago, IL, J.C. Ewing, Carl Ewing and William(Glory) Ewing all of West Helena, AR; sisters, Elsie Goldsberry of Jacksonville, AR, Betty (Kennedy) Harrell and Linda Ewing of Jonesboro, AR, Gwen Ewing of West Helena, AR; an aunt, Rosie Lee Butler of Chicago, IL, a sister-in-law, Juanita Ewing-Young, a special friend, Ramona Black of Conway, AR, a close friend, Jacqueline Hardy of Conway, AR, a host of nephew, nieces, cousins, and dear friends.
