Arthur McClinton, age 70 of West Helena, died May 8, 2018 with family by his side. Arthur Lee McClinton was born in Helena, AR to the late George and Mary (Wallace) McClinton.  He confessed hope in Christ at an early age. 

On March 15, 1980, Arthur and Colette were united in holy wedlock in Helena, AR.  After returning to their home in Milwaukee, WI, they were blessed with three children: Antonio, Cedric and Monica.  In 1989, Arthur and Colette relocated to Helena, AR and were blessed with one more child, Carrie.  Arthur was self-employed for over 28 years, until his health wouldn't permit. He was on the Board of Directors for Tri County Rural Health Network for 13 years, where he served as the board treasurer. Arthur was construction manager for Habitat for Humanity of Phillips County until his passing.  He also served on the Board of Waves of Prayer in Elaine, AR.  He was a charter member and one of the founders of the Preservation of African American Cemetery Association (PAAC) organization.  Arthur received an award from PAAC in 2014.


Arthur took the master’s hand and transitioned from this earthly life to her heavenly home with Colette and Carrie by his side. He leaves to cherish her memory a wife, Colette, of 38 years; two daughters, Monica McClinton and Carrie McClinton of West Helena AR; Two Sons, Antonio McClinton of Casper, WY and Cedric McClinton of Little Rock AR; 11 grandchildren, five long term friends, Arthur Amey, Leroy White, Naomi Cottoms, Scott Smith and Dr. Mary Olson. Arthur is preceded in death by his parents, one brother Rochester McClinton and one sister Ruby Estrada.

Visitation will be held today from 4 P.M. until 6 P.M. at Kincaid Community Center's East Chapel, 1160 Springdale Rd., Helena, AR. Mr. McClinton's remains will lie in state for the final time at noon for one hour on Saturday, May 19, 2018 at the chapel with the funeral service and fellowship immediately following at 1:00 P.M. All arrangements are entrusted to Kincaid Funeral Services.
