One year ago, Helena-West Helena began a partnership with Service Line Warranties of America (SLWA), a leading home service repair plan provider. Through the partnership, Helena-West Helena residents have the option to sign up for service plans to protect against the high cost of emergency repairs to their exterior water and sewer service lines, as well as interior plumbing and drainage systems, on their properties.

Since the partnership began in April 2017, 125 Helena-West Helena residents have signed up for an optional SLWA service plan, with many signing up for multiple plans. Over the past year, SLWA saved Helena-West Helena residents over $2,000.00 in repair expenses, all completed with the help of qualified, local contractors.

“We entered into this partnership to help protect our customers who might not be aware that they are responsible for the maintenance and repair of utility service lines on their property,” said Helen Halbert, Chief of Staff. “The City’s water infrastructure is aging, just like the rest of the nation’s, and more and more of homeowners in the area are discovering that their exterior pipes must be repaired or replaced. This partnership with SLWA gives residents peace of mind, and it’s helping our community, too.”
