Roy Val “RV” Cannon, 93, a long-time resident of Ripley and Brownsville, TN passed away peacefully February 23, 2018.

RV was a dedicated Christian man who loved his family and never met a stranger. He will be remembered for his generosity to his friends and neighbors, as well as strangers he helped along the way in his life.

RV was preceded in death by his wife Syble H. Cannon and parents, Rosa and Lee Cannon. He is survived by three children Belinda Crider, Steve Cannon, and Tina Savage. He leaves five grandchildren, Valerie Rea, Kyle Cannon, Jennifer Rochell, Alan Fogle, and Wendi Beasley; six great grandchildren, Allison Rea, Clara Clark Cannon, Cooper Cannon, Casey Cannon, Braden Beasley, and Jackson Rochell. RV went by many names but the ones he loved most were Daddy, PawPaw, Grandaddy, and Uncle Boo. RV Served in World War II and fought at Normandy and Bastogne, where he lost many of his “brothers”; and carried the memory of that loss with him throughout his life. He was a true patriot and made great sacrifices for his country and family.

A private, family service will be held at West Tennessee Veterans Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the West Tennessee Veterans Home, veterans-home.com
