East Arkansas Community College will present GRAMMY award winning and platinum Country music recording artist, Travis Tritt, on Saturday, April 7th at 7:30 p.m. at the EACC Fine Arts Center as part of the 2017-18 performance season. Tickets go on sale Monday, February 26th at 10:00 a.m.
More than 27-years after Travis Tritt launched his music career, the Southern rock influenced country award winning artist continues to sell out shows, top sales charts, and stay true and relevant to Country music fans across the globe. Among his eleven studio albums and numerous charted singles are nineteen Top 10 hits including “Modern Day Bonnie and Clyde,” “Love of a Woman,” “Here’s a Quarter,” “It’s a Great Day to Be Alive,” “Country Club,” “T-R-O-U-B-L-E,” and others.
A native of Marietta, Georgia, Travis Tritt is dubbed one of the “Class of 89,” which included Country music superstars Garth Brooks, Clint Black and Alan Jackson, all of whom dominated the charts in the early 90s. Tritt incorporated his lifelong influences of Southern rock, blues, and gospel into his country music during a honkey-tonk apprenticeship that led him to Warner Bros. in 1989. Over the course of a decade, he released seven studio albums and a greatest hits package for the label. His 1990 debut of Country Club and its succession of hits put him in the forefront of country music’s early ‘90s boom, and the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) marked the album as certified platinum in 1991.
Over the course of his career, Travis Tritt has produced millions in album sales, two GRAMMY award wins, two CMA awards, multiple No. 1 singles on the country radio charts, and several certified platinum albums. He was awarded Billboard’s Top New Male Artist award and the CMA Horizon Award. Tritt has also performed at two Super Bowls, the 1996 Olympics, a World Series game, the opening of the Georgia Dome, and the NCAA men’s basketball championship.
