On January 24, fourteen months after charges were filed, the US district court for the Eastern District of Arkansas dismissed the indictment against Lionell Moss, former executive director of the Helena Housing Authority.

In October 2016, Lionell Moss was the executive director of the Helena Housing Authority. Moss was arrested on federal charges of illegally receiving $57,907 from submitting false reimbursement requests and using the Housing Authority credit card for personal expenses. Moss has been on temporary suspension since that time, leaving him in limbo since the October arrest.

Moss pleaded innocent to charges of misusing federal funds and theft from programs receiving federal funds. The maximum punishment for these charges were 10 years in prison and $250,00 in fines.
