Funeral services for Walter "Tippy"Pannell will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, June 3 at St. Paul M.B.Church. Rev. Amos Newell will officiate. Interment will be in Poplar Grove Cemetery. 

Walter Pannell"Tippy" was born Aug. 10, 1930 in Poplar Grove to the late Lonnie and Rosa Pannell. He was the youngest of seven children.

Walter confessed a hope in Christ at an early age at First Baptist M.B. Church in Poplar Grove. He attended school in Poplar Grove until he moved to Helena.

Walter worked at Helena Cotton Oil Mill for over 25 years until the company closed and his health begin to fail. He enjoyed sitting outside just looking at the scenery.

Walter is preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, two sisters, and his wife, Addie Sharp-Pannell.

Walter departed this life on May 25, 2017 in Helena.

He leaves to cherish his memory, a daughter, Selena Beasley of Helena; five grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; a sister, Daisy Williams of Helena; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins; and two special friends, Edna Nicholson Williams and Linda Harden.
