Funeral services for Millie Jewel Francis, 78, of Helena-West Helena, will be held 2 p.m., Saturday, June 3 at Brown's Home for Funerals.

Funeral services for Millie Jewel Francis, 78, of Helena-West Helena, will be held 2 p.m., Saturday, June 3 at Brown's Home for Funerals. Rev. Leon Hamilton will officiate.

Interment will be in New Zion Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 to 6 p.m.,  Friday, June 2, at Brown's Home for Funerals. 

Millie Jewel Francis was born Feb. 1, 1939 in Shreveport, Louisiana to Freeman Police, Sr. and Darlene Clark.

Millie accepted Christ as her personal savior at an early age. She worked for many years as a foodservice worker at Crestpark Nursing Home. Millie worked in various businesses in the Helena-West Helena area as a cook including the Rex Motel and Harbor Inn Motel.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her children, Willie David Summage, Gloria Jean Summage and Mary Ann Summage.

Millie departed this life on May 23, 2017, at her home in Helena-West Helena.

She leaves to cherish her memory, a son, Nelson Ray Summage of Shreveport; a daughter, Jacqueline (Carl) Coney of Helena-West Helena; two grandchildren that she raised as her own, Erica Summage and Farron Summage; a brother, Perry Police of Shreveport; a sister, Alice Marie House of Fort Worth, Texas; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
