A memorial service for Elizabeth "Liz" McGee, 61, of Helena-West Helena, AR, will be held 2 p.m., Friday, May 5 at Brown's Home for Funerals.

Elizabeth Joy McGee was born Oct. 28, 1955 in West Carthage, New York.  She was affectionately known as “Liz” by her family and friends. 

Liz worked as a registered nurse for many years. She was a traveling nurse that worked at various hospitals including Northwest Medical Center, Helena Regional Medical Center and the VA Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee. 

Liz answered her heavenly call on Friday, April 28, 2017, at her home in Helena-West Helena. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend to many.

Liz leaves a daughter, Joy Johnson (Scott); a son, Joseph “Jr.” Floyd; a stepson, Willard “Bo” McGee, all of Helena-West Helena; two brothers, Tom Deaton (Mary) of Lonoke, William “Ellis” Deaton (Carol) of West Point; and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her husband and lifelong partner of more than 30 years, Willard “Pat” McGee, her father, Riley Booker “R.B.” Deaton, her mother, Elizabeth “Big Liz” Deaton, and two sisters, Roxianna Manning and MeMe Pitney.
