Funeral services for Cassandra"Cat" Ezell will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 21, at New Haven M.B. Church. Rev. Benjamin Price will officiate. Burial will be in Jackson Memorial Cemetery.
Visitation will be Friday, Jan. 20 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Brown's Home for Funerals.
Cassandra Ezell, affectionately known as “Cat,” was born on May 11, 1959 in Helena to Willie Mack Ezell Sr. and Claudia Ezell. She confessed her faith in Christ at an early age at Galilee Missionary Baptist Church.
Cassandra was a graduate of Central High School’s Class of 1978. Cassandra was a faithful employee of the Isle of Capri Casino for over 15 years.
She was known for her vibrant, outgoing, and very blunt personality. To have known her was to love her. The greatest joy of her life was the births and rearing of her nine children.
On Friday, Jan. 13, 2017 Cassandra was called home from earthly labor to eternal rest. She was surrounded by her loving family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie Sr. and Claudia Ezell; siblings, Rosemary Williams, Willie (BoBo) Ezell Jr., Leah (Linda) Holland and Robert (Bubba) Carver, a grandson, Brian Clark Jr., a niece, Rosalyn Ezell and nephew, Carlos Lee.
Cherishing her memory are her children, Erica (Lamaris) Mitchell of Southaven, Mississippi., Brian (Kaylebrae) Clark Sr. of Little Rock, Niki (Lapoleon) Lee, Justin (Margie) Ezell, Chasity Ezell, Jasmine Gibbs, Jamareus Ezell, Jaylin Ezell, and Tylin Ezell, all of Helena-West Helena; sisters, Charlene Hicks, of Bolingbrook, Illinois, Dorothy Carver of Chicago, Illinois, Patricia (Dexter) Brewer of Omaha, Nebraska, Phyllis (Lloyd) Porter of Killeen Texas, Lola Meadows of Southaven, Mississippi; brothers, Herman (Travestine) Jones of Omaha, Nebraska, Kennedy (Barbara) Ezell of Lexa; a sister-in-law, Mercy Ezell of Helena-West Helena; aunts, Mildred Green of Helena-West Helena and Louise Jones of St. Louis, Missouri; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
