Funeral services for Lorine Wimbley Soimis will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 7 at New Haven M.B. Church.

Rev. George A. Gibson will officiate. Interment will be in Morning Star Cemetery.

Lorine Wimbley Soimis, affectionately known as “Lo,” was born Aug. 4, 1942 to the late Corena and Ezekiel (Zeke) Wimbley. Lorine was one of eight children born to this union.

Lorine confessed a hope in Christ at an early age at Brooks Chapel Missionary Baptist Church. She later renewed her faith when she joined Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church in Elaine.

Lorine married Warren Soimis Sr., who preceded her in death on Aug. 25, 2001.

Lorine leaves to cherish her memory, five children, Allen (Teresa) Ivory, Gloria (Judge) Hughes, Tmyaka Soimis and Nakita Soimis, all of Memphis, Tennessee, Perry Soimis (Stephanie) of Marion and Sheila Sanders of Jonesboro, who was raised by Lorine.; seven stepchildren, Maxine (Willie) Thorton of Pine Bluff, Warren Soimis Jr. Ruth (Norman) Lott, and Jersey Soimis of Toledo, Ohio, Willie Smith, Verna (Richard) Smith of Seattle, Washington, and Mary Soimis of Palmdale, California; eight grandchildren, Andre Ivory, Antuan Ivory, Kentrell Clash, Eric  Clash, Katrina Soimis, Antonio Soimis, Damarious Brown, Nikedra Thomas, and Jaliyah Thomas; seven great-grandchildren, Shania, Ciara, Azaria, Kadence, Kingston, Amiya and Eriane Clash; a sister, Vera Clark of Saginaw, Michigan; five brothers, Eddie Shaw of Kansas City, Kansas, A.C. (Mary) Wimbley of Luxora, Charlie (Leslie B.) Wimbley of Blytheville, Alvin Wimbley and Willie (Lena) Wimbley of Memphis; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
