Seneca Jamaal Hart, 31, of Jacksonville and formerly of Elaine, passed away at Baptist Health Medical Center in North Little Rock, surrounded by his family and friends on Wednesday, Sept. 7, 2016.

Seneca Jamaal Hart, 31, of Jacksonville and formerly of Elaine, passed away at Baptist Health Medical Center in North Little Rock, surrounded by his family and friends on Wednesday, Sept. 7, 2016.

He was born on June 24, 1985 to the late Thomas James (T.J.) Garner and the late Ollie Mae Hart in Elaine. 

Seneca confessed a hope in Christ and was baptized at an early age at First Baptist Church in Elaine. He later joined First Baptist Church in North Little Rock. He attended Elaine High School until he moved to Jacksonville and graduated from Sylvan Hills High School in 2004. 

Upon graduation, he pursued higher education at Arkansas State University and Mississippi Valley State University.

Seneca was a loving son, grandson, brother, uncle, cousin, friend, and most of all, a devoted father.  He will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved him.

Seneca was preceded in death by his parents, his maternal grandfather, G.W. Hart, his paternal grandparents, James Campbell and Ethel Mae Garner, his aunt, Gloria Dean Hughey, and three uncles, Ike, Alex, and George Hart.

He leaves to cherish his memory his son, Seneca Jamaal Hart Jr., of North Little Rock; his grandmother, Kate Hart of Elaine; four sisters, Nneka (Kenneth) Nelson of Helena, Latonya Garner of Itta Bena, Mississippi, LaTrenda Garner of Memphis, Tennessee, and Keashia Garner of Everett, Washington; three brothers, Bryant (Beverly) Hart  of Little Rock, Tarik Slater of Helena-West Helena and Tyris Garner of Jacksonville; a special aunt, Lynette Hart of Helena-West Helena; a special mother figure who treated him as a son, Zeola Dixon of Jacksonville; and a host of other beloved relatives and friends.

Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m., Friday, Sept. 16 at Kincaid Funeral Services East Chapel. The funeral will be 2 p.m., Saturday at Church of the Living God in Helena-West Helena. Pastor William L. Robinson will deliver the eulogy. Burial will follow in First Baptist Church Cemetery in Elaine.
