Mark Twain once said, "Quitting smoking is easy, I've done it a thousand times."
If you have ever been addicted to cigarettes, only you know the struggle of putting them down. I made that decision a week ago and it is not on the top of a list of things I wanted to do, but when you realize what you are doing when you smoke, you cannot help but put them down.

If you have ever been addicted to cigarettes, only you know the struggle of putting them down. I made that decision a week ago and it is not on the top of a list of things I wanted to do, but when you realize what you are doing when you smoke, you cannot help but put them down.

When you smoke two packs per day, you would be spending as much as $500 per month. That is a car payment or rent. Then when you realize what the chemicals are doing to your body, aside from the thousands of dollars you already spend on them, it only makes sense to quit.

This is the third attempt for me. The first two attempts I used the prescription drug Chantix. This time around I am stepping down by using a vaporizer. This seems to be the trend these days and I must say they are quite effective. For less than $30 you can get a vaporizer and the flavored nicotine juice. I will end up spending maybe $10-$15 total on refill nicotine juice. That is nowhere near $500.

In just a few days of not smoking I can taste the food I am eating, sense of smell increased, and overall level of energy increased. I am not out of breath every time I walk up a flight of stairs. I even find myself taking my dog out more for walks on the battlefield. But quitting is not easy. In fact it is the hardest thing ever for some people, while some can put them down with no problem.

If you know of someone who is trying to stop smoking, encourage them. If you smoke, do it around someone you know is trying to quit. And just remember, you will not quit smoking unless you have a conviction to. But once you make that decision, you will not regret the moments of fighting the urge to light up and you will be a better person for it.
