Funeral services for Harold Rodgers will be held 2 p.m., Saturday, August 22 at New Haven M.B. Church. Rev. Roy Lee Williams will officiate.

Burial will be in Jackson Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m., Friday, August 21at Brown's Home for Funerals.

Harold Rodgers was born on July 30, 1961 to Catherine Tate and Eddie Rodgers in Chicago, Illinois.

His parents and his son, Corey Rodgers proceeded him in death. 

He confessed a hope in Christ at an early age at Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church in Clarksdale, Mississippi.  He attended South Shore High School in Chicago.

On July 2, 1983, Harold married the love of his life Brenda Lee Edwards in Chicago and to this union they raised three sons, Courtney, Christopher and Corey.

He is described by his family as being a big man in stature with even a bigger heart. All who knew him loved him.  Children that came in touch with Harold had him wrapped around their finger. Harold will be truly missed.

Through his life’s journey, Harold has held many jobs, which have touched a lot of people.  Many stated that he would give you the shirt off his back. His jobs included but not limited to: Allied Tube and Holiday Inn in Chicago, Wholesale Building, McDonald’s, Kentucky Fried Chicken, and Hays in Helena-West Helena.

Harold departed this life on August 10, 2015.

Precious memories will linger with his loving and devoted wife of 29 years, Brenda Lee Rodgers; 2 sons, Courtney (Shenita) Edwards of Norfolk, Virginia, Christopher (Kleasharah) Rodgers of Jonesboro; 6 grandchildren, Armonie Ferrell, Lelonie and Courtney Jr. Edwards, all of Norfolk, Virginia, Zakhariah Jones, Chassidy and Christopher Jr., all of Jonesboro; 2 brothers, Larry (Angela) Bailey, Anthony (Debora) Rodgers, all of Chicago, IL; Two sisters, Tammy Ford, Annette Ford all of Chicago; mother-in-law, Elsie Mae Edwards of Helena-West Helena; 2 aunts, Susie Brown of Chicago and Daisy Hooper of Helena; an uncle, Judge Williams Jr. of St Louis, Missouri; a brother-in-law, Lynn Edwards of Helena; 5 sisters-in-law, Janett Wright, Retha Edwards, Agatha (Sammie) Hopson and Alice Edwards, all of Helena-West Helena and Shirley Edwards of Little Rock; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, godsons, family, buddies and friends.
