Funeral services for Mrs. Dora Thomas will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, July 18 at Zion Hill Missionary Baptist Church, 1108 Pecan Street, Helena with Rev. Leroy Harper, officiating.

Visitation will be held for the public from noon to 3 p.m. and family hours will be from 4 to 6 p.m. in the Stephens Funeral Home Chapel.

Burial will take place at Jackson Memorial Garden at Lexa.

Dora Thomas was born in Tunica, Mississippi.  She was the daughter of Charlie Lee Smith and Dorothea Walker.  She confessed a Life in Christ at an early age.  She was a long-time member at the St. Paul Missionary Baptist.  She later joined the Zion Hill Missionary Baptist Church.  She was an usher, Sunday School teacher and she was a mother on the Mother’s Board.  She worked for Mr. and Mrs. John King Sr. for 38 years. 

Dora had a daughter, Gracie Mae Combs Scrubbs and a brother, Tommie Lee who preceded her in death.

Dora departed this life on July 8, 2015 at home with her family. 

She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband, Terry Lee Thomas; 4 children, Mary J. Hicks of Little Rock, Gloria Flowers Williams (Don) of Little Rock, Willie L. Combs (Evelyn) of Helena-West Helena and Andrew L. Combs (Shannon) of Little Rock; 3 siblings, Charline Shearings (Sony) of Little Rock, Charlie Lee Smith Jr. of Little Rock and Delois Young of Little Rock; Stepchildren, Charles Flowers (Lola) of Helena-West Helena; Robert Flowers of Little Rock and Walter Tate (Linda) of Chicago, Illinois and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.
