Delta Cultural Center Curator Bill Branch recently had one of his paintings selected for show in the 57th annual Delta Exhibition currently on display at the Arkansas Arts Center in Little Rock.

The juried show had 884 works of art submitted by 338 artists. A total of 72 of those works were selected. One of those was Branch’s watercolor, “Hot Time in the City.”

Branch painted it on location back in 2014 at the Lichterman Nature Center in Memphis, Tennessee.

The Delta Exhibition is currently on view and will run through September 20.

The Delta Exhibition of Painting and Sculpture was formed in 1958 and features contemporary work by artists from Arkansas and bordering states. The exhibit has grown to include works in all media and showcase the dynamic vision of Mississippi Delta region artists.

The exhibition shows the region’s strong tradition of craftsmanship and observation, combined with the innovative use of materials and an experimental approach to subject matter.
