Here are five ways to have fun this weekend.

1. The big movies opening this weekend are “Ted 2,” a sequel to Seth MacFarlane’s R comedy, also rated R and again starring Mark Wahlberg; and “Max,” a PG movie about a former war dog.

2. The Women’s World Cup continues this weekend, with quarterfinal games taking place Friday and Saturday. The U.S. team plays Friday against China - can they advance to the semifinals?

3. This Saturday is the Great American Backyard Campout, a day (and night) designed to get people camping, even if it is only in their backyards. Get the tent ready, get s’more ingredients, prepare your firepit, look up some good campfire stories and enjoy camping out at home!

4. If you like to spit watermelon seeds (and really, who doesn’t), this weekend is for you: It’s Watermelon Seed Spitting Week! From Thursday to Sunday, spit all the watermelon seeds you can - it’s your duty as an American.

5. Even though July is National Ice Cream Month, there’s no need to wait until July to really enjoy ice cream. Go out this weekend to your local ice cream shop, or buy your favorite kind (and don’t forget the fixin’s!), and enjoy one of the best things man has ever created.
