Mayor Jay Hollowell spoke to the local Helena Rotary Club Wednesday afternoon. He introduced his chief-of-staff, his director of Human Resources, the city clerk, and the city treasurer.

Hollowell noted, "I wanted each of them to come and speak about what has been going on over the past 60 days."

Lynn Chadwick spoke on her first two months as Hollowell's chief-of-staff. Chadwick told Rotarians, "We have been bust just trying to figure things out and find out where we are with everything." Chadwick continued, "There have been lawsuits and previous problems coming out of the woodwork and there has been a lot of time spent trying to solve these old issues with employment from the past and we are working on that... trying keep a level head and trying to be fair."

Regarding her job duties, Chadwick noted, "I get to talk to everyone that comes to see the mayor and I have had some wonderful experiences and I have learned something... these people are going to keep coming back until they think someone has actually listened to them."

"One of the ways Jay has made the city better is that we now have new e-mail addresses for all the elected officials and for senior administrative staff and those are posted at www.helena-westhelena.us. Now you all can communicate with not just Jay and myself but with all the council members and if you have been to a council meeting you know how important that is; use those email addresses to let them know what you want."

City Clerk Sandy Ramsey then told Rotarians, "We are getting ready for the 2014 city audit."

Ramsey noted the audit will take about three months to complete and I think the new administration will do an awesome job."
