Arkansas State Police say two people were killed in separate auto accidents on the state's roadways.
Police say 72-year-old James Owens of Stuttgart died and two people were injured Sunday when the vehicle Owens was driving northbound on Highway 17 near Holly Grove was struck head-on by a southbound pickup truck that had crossed the center line.

Police say 72-year-old James Owens of Stuttgart died and two people were injured Sunday when the vehicle Owens was driving northbound on Highway 17 near Holly Grove was struck head-on by a southbound pickup truck that had crossed the center line.

State police say 20-year-old Brittney Chappel of Magnolia also died Sunday when the car she was riding in went off U.S. Highway 79 near Camden and overturned before crashing into a tree.

State police reports say it was raining and the roads were wet at the time of both accidents.
