Pope Francis made a surprise visit to a shantytown in Rome earlier this month, visiting the laborers from countries like Peru and Ecuador who reside there in rudimentary shacks made of wood, concrete and metal.

The pope regularly made visits to the slums of Buenos Aires when serving as a bishop in Argentina, earning the nickname of “slum bishop.” He has often used his platform as pope to lobby for more humane conditions and opportunities for the poor.
SURVEY SAYS

According to a recent Gallup poll, three out of every 10 Jewish people in America identify as Republicans, a statistic that has largely held stagnant over the last couple of years. Digging deeper, the poll also showed that Jewish men were more likely to be conservative than Jewish women, as were less-educated Jews and Jews who identified as being more religious.
