Wal-Mart's Q4 financial results will be released at 8:30 a.m. ET.

Analysts expect the retailer to report adjusted earnings of $1.53 per share on revenue of $132.2 billion.

Excluding fuel, comparable store sales are expected to have increased by 0.8%.

Earlier this month, HSBC analyst Richard Cathcart downgraded the stock to neutral.

"The US continues to dominate the Walmart investment case (70% of FY15e sales) and we think the next 12-18 months could be crucial for the future direction of the company there," Cathcart wrote in a Feb. 11 research note. "We believe management needs to address the issue of space, explaining how legacy supercenters will remain relevant when expansion is now focusing on smaller supercenters and neighborhood stores. "
