Rev. Robert Davis of West Helena has recently began a community wide organic garden just off of highways 242 and 245 in Lexa where he hopes to bring forth a community wide effort in growing, tilling, and pulling the natural produce that, “God has intended us to eat.” Davis believes that in this day an age, the younger people have taken for granted what old fashioned hard work can do for the body and the soul.  “This nation seems to be wrapped up in the faster aspect of life when it comes to food, what with the fast food chains and all.  What they don’t realize is there was a time when what you grew is what you ate,” explained Davis.  Currently Davis is reaching out to the community, hoping to spread the awareness for a healthier tomorrow.  “My ambition is for our community to feed our community.  There’s nothing more rewarding than to take a bite of natures goodness fresh from the ground you sew,” concluded Davis.
