United Methodist Church Bishop Charles N. Crutchfield will be speaking Sunday, March 4 at the 10:30 a.m. worship service of the First United Methodist Church at 502 Porter St. in Helena.
Bishop Crutchfield was ordained a deacon in the Oklahoma Conference by Bishop W. Angie Smith.  He was ordained elder in 1971 in the New Mexico Conference by Bishop Alsie Carleton.  He served in the New Mexico Conference from 1969 until his election to the episcopacy by the South Central Jurisdictional Conference in 2004.  He is currently serving as bishop to the Arkansas Conference of the United Methodist Church, supervising 704 clergy who are serving in 689 local churches.

Prior to election as a bishop, Crutchfield was elected to serve as a delegate to the 1992, 1996, 2000, and 2004 General Conferences of the UMC.
