The City of Helena-West Helena is making free discount prescription drug cards available to the public. The City of Helena-West Helena Discount Rx Card is a free prescription assistance program is designed to help uninsured and underinsured residents afford their needed prescription medications.
The program is free to everyone and provides up to 75 percent off on prescription medications.
“With our city and surrounding communities being among the most unhealthy in the state and country, this program is excellent to address this challenge,” stated H-WH Mayor Arnell Willis. “Introducing the program during the Christmas season is extra special because families need money the most during this time of the year.”
To obtain a free card, stop by the mayor’s office or visit the city’s Website at www.helenawesthelena.com and download a card. The card program has no membership restrictions, no income or age limitations and you do not have to fill out an application. Friends and family who do not live in the city also may use the program from anywhere in the country. Over 56,000 national and regional pharmacies across the county accept the card.
The program also can be used by people have health insurance coverage but no prescription benefits. People who have prescription coverage may use this program for non-covered drugs.
