Carolyn Wolfe Doster of Helena-West Helena began her eternal life on Sunday, Nov. 20, 2011 at the young age of 66.  She was born Dec. 7, 1944 at Helena.  She was the daughter of Earl Wolfe Sr. and Nellie Wolfe Pernell and stepdaughter of John “Dillard” Pernell.  She married the love of her life, George Doster, on Jan. 26, 1959.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Helena.  She was an avid gardener who loved her flowers and shared an equal love for her animals.  But her most treasured possession was her dear family.  She had many hobbies throughout her life, which included fishing, traveling and sewing—She made cheerleading uniforms and dance costumes for countless children for many years.  She also loved volunteering and spending time at the nursing home where she was honored with “Volunteer of the Year” in 1993.  Her determination and drive led her back to college where she graduated with highest honors in 1993 and was also a member of Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society.  She also received the “Outstanding Graduate” award.

Her parents, Earl Wolfe Sr. and Nellie Wolfe Pernell and Dillard “Poppa” Pernell and two brothers, Herbert Foster and Jody Talley, preceded her in death.

Mrs. Doster is survived by her husband of nearly 53 years, George W. “G.W.” Doster; a son, Jimmy (Mindy) of Waldron; a daughter, Teresa Shelton (James) of Casscoe; four precious grandchildren, Jamie Holmes Ferebee (Phil) of Blackton, Blake Doster of Ozark, Clay and Brooke Doster of Waldron; eight step grandchildren (Although “Nanny” never had steps!); an adorable great-granddaughter, Conley Ferebee and 12 step-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Earl Wolfe (Caroline) of Madisonville, Ky. and Ed Wolfe of Saltville, Va.; and a host of nieces, nephews and dear friends.
