The Helena-West Helena Advertising & Promotions Commission is again bringing ice-skating to town with Helena on Ice.

The Helena-West Helena Advertising & Promotions Commission is again bringing ice-skating to town with Helena on Ice.  Besides ice skating a variety of holiday related activities are planned for the community to enjoy – all wrapped under the title of the Helena Holiday Festival.  The events will begin on Dec. 3, 2011 with the lighting of the Christmas tree in Court Square Park, including community caroling. 
The Warfield Concert Series will take place on Sunday, Dec. 4 with a matinee and evening performance of “Happy Holidays” presented by the Helena Little Theater.  On Dec. 5, Helena Regional Medical Center Auxiliary will hold the Lighting of the Tree on the hospital grounds.  Dec. 9 – 14 an acrylic ice-skating rink will be set up in the area of Cherry Street Pavilion for everyone to enjoy the classic holiday tradition of ice skating. 
The Christmas Parade will take place on Dec. 10, followed by the first annual Helena Holiday Cabaret at the Malco Theater. 
During the day on Dec. 12- 14 school groups, time will be reserved time for students to skate at a reduced cost.  If any business owner or community member would like to donate funds to offset the cost of providing this experience for school groups, contributions may be made to the H-WH Advertising and Promotions Commission, c/o Sandy Ramsey, City Hall.
