On the Lord's Day Thursday, Oct. 21, 2010 Fannie Mae (Roy) Davis was looking back on her relationship and life she had with God. How they had been traveling up and down the highway of life. The battle of illness had been up and down; time and age had taken their hold.

 

On the Lord's Day Thursday, Oct. 21, 2010 Fannie Mae (Roy) Davis was looking back on her relationship and life she had with God. How they had been traveling up and down the highway of life. The battle of illness had been up and down; time and age had taken their hold.
Fannie Mae (Roy) Davis was born to the late Will and Mary (Simpson) Roy on Dec. 27, 1918 in Crossett. Mrs. Davis moved to Elaine in the 1920s as a young child. She was married to Earnest Davis for 49 years until his death in February 2002.
Her parents, a sister, Annie Tolefree and brothers, Charlie Roy, Joe Lewis and Samuel Roy, preceded her in death.
She leaves to cherish her memory, a son Robert (Forestine) Davis of Memphis; a niece they raised, Georgia Taylor of Memphis; a sister, Nora (Herman) Dixon of Elaine; a sister-in-law, Delia Roy of Lambrook; a brother-in-law, Earnest Davis of Sandusky, Ohio; a sister-in-law, Margaret (G.H.) Wallace, Minne (Bill) McCay all of Memphis; four nephews, Bobby Roy of Chicago, Eddie (Faye) Howard of Hazelcrest, Ill., Marriet Marshall, Michael (Keisha) Marshall of Houston, Texas; nine nieces, Helen Grayson, Pearl Gordon of Lambrook, Mary Sample and Josephine Marshall of Little Rock, Bernetta Davis, of Moncks Corner S.C., Mildred (Donell) of Cherry Valley, Clara (Donnell) Martin, Ceretta and Terri Marshall, all of Fort Wayne, Ind.; and a host of great nieces, great nephews and extended family members.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 30 at the First Baptist Church in Elaine. Burial will be in the First Baptist Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the church.
Jackson and Highley Funeral Home will direct services.
