Helena West Helena Police Pfc. Dale Acosta investigated a 4-car accident on Sebastian Street in front of the Tobacco Superstore around 8 a.m. Thursday. Towana Hollins was driving a 2007 Ford Expedition north on Sebastian in the right hand lane when a Ford Tarus, driven by an unknown driver, cut her vehicle off trying to pass Hollins’ vehicle. Hollins swerved to the right to avoid a collision and the vehicle behind her, a 2004 Honda driven by Betsy Snyder, attempted to turn left to avoid hitting the Expedition. When Snyder turned her vehicle, the Snyder vehicle struck a fourth vehicle, a 2007 Ford Fusion driven by Kidata Moore. Moore was headed south on Sebastian and on impact was turned back into Snyder's vehicle. Both Snyder and Moore's vehicles wound up in the ditch on the right side of Sebastian. Moore was taken to Helena Regional Medical Center where she was checked out and was reported doing OK. Snyder was shaken up. Hollins, who left the scene, was charged with leaving the scene of an accident and not having a driver's license. Police are still looking for the Taurus that caused the accident.
