Funeral services for Robert James Bailey, 56, of Helena, who resided in Little Rock, will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 23 at the Beautiful Zion M.B. Church in Helena

Funeral services for Robert James Bailey, 56, of Helena, who resided in Little Rock, will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 23 at the Beautiful Zion M.B. Church in Helena with Rev. Danny Robinson officiating. Burial will be in the Oak Grove No. 3 Cemetery in Helena-West Helena.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. tonight in Little Rock at the Walter Gateway Funeral Home on Gain Street.
Bailey departed this life on Oct. 8, 2010 at Walker's Wrecker Service.
Bailey was preceded in death by his father, Emerce Bailey; two sisters, Leona (Tump) Tilson and Dorothy (Dot) Tilson; and grandparents, Cleola Garner-Branch.
Robert James Bailey was born on Feb. 3,1954 to the union of Bernice Tilson and Emerce Bailey. He confessed his faith in Christ at an early age. He attended Central High School and joined the U.S. Army where he served for 3 years and was honorably discharged. He later became known as a skilled mechanic and a very hard worker.
He leaves to cherish his memory his mother, Bernice Tilson; three sons, Corvette Bailey, Robert Bailey Jr. and Christopher Bailey; two sisters, Ferry Britton of Aurora, Ill., Shelia (Ricky) Stiggers of Dallas; 10 brothers, John Henry (Cynthia) Jones of Sage, Texas, James (Janice) Tilson of Fort Smith, John Talon, Napoleon Gilson and Cleveland "Lucky" (Lashanda) Tilson of Helena-West Helena, Willie (Shallotte) Tilson Sr. of Gary, Ind., Reginald (Sabrina) Tilson of Atlanta, Ga.; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
