Funeral services for Isiah Rodgers, 81, of Elaine will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, March 27, at Pilgrim Rest M.B. Church in Wabash with the Rev. Artic James officiating.

Funeral services for Isiah Rodgers, 81, of Elaine will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, March 27, at Pilgrim Rest M.B. Church in Wabash with the Rev. Artic James officiating.  Visitation will be held tonight from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Robert Lee Brown Memorial Chapel.  Interment will be in Pilgrim Rest Cemetery in Wabash.  Isiah Rodgers was born to the late John Rodgers, II and Lena Glass Rodgers on May 19, 1928 in Elaine.
Isiah confessed a hope in Christ at an early age and fellowshipped at the Pilgrim Rest M.B. Church until his health failed him. 
Isiah Rodgers married Ruby Dimely.  Isiah was a devoted father until his health failed him.  Isiah’s daughter, Annie, took care of her father through the years until God called him home.  Isiah was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Rodgers, his father, John, his mother, Lena, two sons, James and Frank, a daughter, Lena, a brother, John III, and three sisters, Zenobia, Annie and Jimella.
He departed this life on March 18, 2010, and leaves to mourn his passing four
daughters, Annie Gum and Zenora Rodgers of Lake View, Rosie Rodgers and Gloria
O’Neal of Lexa; three sons, Luther Rodgers of Louisiana, Sam (Theressa) Wynn Jr. of Elaine and Lugene Rodgers; 19 grandchildren, Sylvester, Janice, Linda, Dennis, Sholanda, Gary, Marquitta, Cordella, Vandy, Cassandra, Tre, Dominique, Tiffany, Vick, Tammy, Shawn, Kelvin, Shiquita and Kennita; 20 great grandchildren; a sister, Dimple May Rodgers (Nathaniel Griffen, Sr.) of Bellwood, Ill.; two special sisters, Macel Charise and Vera Willis; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
