Funeral services for Lucy I. Zola Graves 83, of Kalamazoo, Mich. and formerly of Marvell will be held Saturday, March 27 at 2p.m. at St. Matthew M.B. Church at Gumbottom with Rev. Tommy Stevenson officiating.  Visitation will be held Saturday, March 27 from noon to 2p.m. at the church.

Funeral services for Lucy I. Zola Graves 83, of Kalamazoo, Mich. and formerly of Marvell will be held Saturday, March 27 at 2p.m. at St. Matthew M.B. Church at Gumbottom with Rev. Tommy Stevenson officiating.  Visitation will be held Saturday, March 27 from noon to 2p.m. at the church.  Interment will be in Coffee Creek Cemetery in Marvell.  Lucy was the most courageous lady that we all knew and will probably ever meet.  She put up a long fight and she never stopped trying and that is how she will be remembered.
In the morning of Wednesday, March 17, 2010, Lucy I. Zola Graves was quietly called home to be with her Heavenly Father.  She was born Feb. 27, 1927 in Postelle to the late John Lee Williams and Mary Bell Williams.  Sister Lucy I. Zola Graves was a faithful member until her health failed her.  She was a choir member and she worked at the BGACDC.  Her hobbies were fishing, gardening, sewing and canning.
She was married to the late Clifton Graves, B.K.A. (Sam) in 1944 and to this union two children were born.
Three brothers and two sisters preceded her in death.
She leaves to cherish her memories, two loving sons, Clardy Graves of Kalamazoo, Clezo Lee of Marvell; three sisters, Pearline Newman of Indiana, Mildred Pickens of Kansas City, Mo., Mamie Alexander of St. Louis, Katherine Wilson of Marvell; a brother, L.V. London of Hayes; a sister-in-law, Ella of Hayes; a brother-in-law, Benjamin Alexander of St. Louis; 22 grandchildren, Larry, Eugene, Charles, Carl Washpun, Michael Graves, Kris, Wanda, Chaunteau Grays, Beverly Grays, Bernie Frost, Clerece Jackson, Cledia Graves, III, Clifton, Cambria, Cletis, Kidada, Tiffany, Clisha Graves, Klisha Hardness, Denise Peak, Montreal Petty, Marcus “C.J.” Graves; 59 great-grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
