Funeral services for Dorothy Blackburn Hawken, 90, of Heber Springs and formerly of Helena will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 1, 2009 at St. John’s Episcopal Church in Helena. Father Travis Frank will officiate. The family will receive visitors from noon to 2 p.m. Thursday at the church. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park.
Hawken, born June 7, 1919 in Mellwood to the late Edward Marion and Lois Koen Blackburn, died Sunday, Sept. 27, 2009 at White County Hospital in Searcy.
She leaves two daughters, Dottie Kerby and husband, Jack of Pangburn and Janet Hawken of Memphis; two grandchildren, Cheril Whitman and husband, Steve of Atlanta, Ga. and Chris Kerby and wife, Karen of Pangburn; four great-grandchildren, Dallas Whitman, Karsyn Whitman, Taylor Kerby and Kristen Kerby. Her parents, a sister, Margaret Farmer and two brothers, Bee and Ed Blackburn, preceded her in death.
