Funeral services for Stewart announced.
Funeral Services for Lurlene Stewart will be held Saturday, Feb. 28, 2009 at 11 a.m. at the Philadelphia M. B. Church in Clarendon. Visitation will be Friday from 6 to 7 p.m. at the Church.
Lurlene Stewart, known to many as Nucy, was born Dec. 3, 1937 to Mr. D. Lewis and Ms. Fannie Davis.
She confessed a hope in Christ at an early age at Philadelphia M. B. Church.
Lurlene worked hard all her life to support her three children, Claude, Clark and Lurlyn Stewart. She worked at Sanyo for 33 years and also owned and operated Lurlene’s Starlight Club from 1981 until her health failed.
Lurlene was a woman of great pride and dignity. She also believed and loved the Almighty God and the Lord our Savior Jesus Christ to the day she departed this earth to join her Father.
She leaves to mourn, her son, Clark Gable Stewart; her brother, Macio Smith; her sister, Emma; 12 grandchildren; a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Preceding her in death was her son, Claude Gregory Stewart, her daughter, Lurlene Marie Stewart and her mother, Fannie Davis.
Rev. Willie Gilmore will officiate.
