Funeral services for Chavey announced.

Antoinette P. Chavey, 104, died Sunday, Aug. 24, 2008 in North Little Rock with her family by her side.
Her husband, William C. “Bill” Chavey; her parents, Julius and Augusta Pause; and her three sisters, Marie Mays, Julia Ross, and Josephine Pause, all of Helena, preceded her in death.
Antoinette, or “Nettie” as she was called, spend her life caring for others. She went through nurses training at the old Helena Hospital on Beech St. Extended. She worked for Dr. Bill Ellis and Dr. David Capes at the new Helena Hospital, and did private duty nursing later in her career.
She was active in First United Methodist Church of Helena, the American Legion Auxiliary, was director of the Arkansas State Nurses Association, and was on the Maple Hill Cemetery Board.
Her lifespan encompassed the advent of manned flight, two world wars and the Great Depression, to watching man land on the moon, to seeing the horrific events of 9/11.
Mrs. Chavey would have celebrated her 105th birthday on Oct. 17, 2008.
She leaves her daughter, Antoinette Davis of North Little Rock; a granddaughter, Pam Lasiter (Tom) of North Little Rock; great-granddaughter, Allison Hester (Stephen) of Little Rock and great-grandson, Ryan Lasiter of Little Rock.
She also leaves her nephews, Al Mays (Brenda) of Springdale and William Ross (Carolyn) of Houston, Texas; and several grand nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 30, 2008 at the First United Methodist Church. Visitation will be before the service, beginning at 1 p.m. at the church. Interment will be at Maple Hill Cemetery in Helena.
Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Helena, Amboy United Methodist Church of North Little Rock, or to Maple Hill Cemetery.
