Suspects in hit, run turn themselves into police

On Jan. 25 between 5 and 5:15 p.m., Shay Branch, 22, of Helena, was critically injured in a hit and run accident at the corner of York and Franklin streets. Suspects Jasmine Smith, 23, of Helena and Eddie Henry were reported to have struck Branch with a vehicle and then left the scene of the accident. 
Smith and Henry later turned themselves in. Their bond was set at $75,000 each.  Branch was reportedly airlifted from Helena Regional Medical Center to The Med in Memphis.
In unrelated incidents, The Helena-West Helena Police Department confirmed that around 2:30 p.m. on Feb. 3 that they executed a search warrant in the 200 block of Franklin St. in Helena for Darren Buckner, 42, of Helena. 
The warrants involved the alleged delivery of a controlled substance of crack cocaine, possession of a controlled substance with an enhancement charge of proximity of certain facilities such as a school or church.  Buckner will face additional charges as a result.  His bond was set at $45,000 and he is being held at the Phillips County jail.
Edward Walker, 30, of Helena was arrested early Sunday morning when he was found in possession of crack cocaine. Bond is pending at this time.
