At long last, Central has broken a two-year losing streak.
Behind the pitching of Kyrin Burrell, Central found some seldom seen offense the past two seasons as the Cougars thumped Little Rock J.A. Fair, 13-2, for their first victory since 2007. Senior Anterio Sloan had 3 hits in four at-bats and drove in three runs.
Picking up the win in Central’s home opener at Gene Bearden Stadium, the Cougars evened their record at 1-1 going into today’s return engagement against Fair at Little Rock.
The Cougars will face Clarksdale (Miss.) 4 p.m Thursday at home.
