Final preparations are being made for the 20th annual King Biscuit Golf Classic June 28-29 at West Helena Municipal Golf Course, Rose Seaton said Thursday
“We shoot for 18 teams at the morning (8:30 a.m.) shotgun start and 18 in the afternoon (1:30 p.m.) tee time,” Seaton said. “Signup is under way and must be done at the golf course with Phyllis Miles, the golf pro.”
There will be cash prizes for the winners of the flights. Last year’s field included golfers for the championship, first and second flights, Seaton said.
“We also award cash prizes for a hole-in-one, closest to the pin and longest drive,” Seaton said.
“There is a $1 million prize for the person who scores a hole-in-one on a designated hole,” Seaton said. “You have to purchase a ticker for that try.”
Last year’s winning teams were: Dustin King-Derrick Oberle, championship, John Norman Bryant-Randy Von Kanel, first flight, and Ed Pettigrew-Dillon Tipton, second flight.
There will be a dinner following the Saturday, June 28 round of play provided by Lighthouse Family Restaurant, 2372 Highway 49 West.
Net proceeds go toward the Muscular Dystrophy Foundation.
Elaine Canady is the chairperson.
