As one of five teams to represent Southwest Arkansas and Hope Baseball Softball Association league last weekend at the state tournament, the 12U SWA All-Stars finished third place overall in their division for the highest finish amongst the area teams representing the league in Conway.

As one of five teams to represent Southwest Arkansas and Hope Baseball Softball Association league last weekend at the state tournament, the 12U SWA All-Stars finished third place overall in their division for the highest finish amongst the area teams representing the league in Conway. The 2018 USSSA Arkansas All-Star State Baseball Championships were scheduled June 22-24 in Conway. 

The 12U division consisted of 16 teams of all-stars from Alma, Cabot, Dewitt, Fayetteville Purple Dawgs, Greenbrier, Greenwood, Lake Hamilton, Monticello, Nashville, Ozark, Sheridan, Star City, Van Buren, Warren and Wynne.

SWA All-Stars went 4-1 during their tournament journey to finish the third best team of 16 elite all-star groups from Arkansas assembled on the diamond in Conway. SWA beat Alma 19-7, beat Sheridan 10-2 and 14-4 defeated Van Buren 13-5 and fell short in the semifinals to Monticello 8-6 during the tournament. 

SWA All-Stars scored a total of 62 runs and hammered four home runs in five games of action for their performance as a team.

The 2018 SWA All-Stars of Hope were under the direction of head coach Wes Pierce with Cheri Pierce and Odell Gulley.
