The Arkansas Activities Association officially announced the times for this weekend's state championship games in baseball, soccer and softball at Fayetteville.

There will be two local teams involved in state championship action, the Northside boys soccer team and the Greenwood baseball team.

The Northside Grizzlies will be playing Rogers for the 7A boys soccer championship at noon Friday. The game will take place at the Lady Razorback soccer field on the University of Arkansas campus.

Northside qualified for the title game by winning two hard-fought games at the 7A State Tournament in Rogers. The Grizzlies defeated Fayetteville in overtime in the quarterfinals before getting a late goal to defeat 7A-West champion Springdale in the semifinals.

Meanwhile, the Greenwood Bulldogs baseball team seeks to finish off a strong season as they will take on Benton in the 6A championship game. That game will take place at 3 p.m. Saturday at Baum Stadium.

Greenwood got to the title game by winning two games at the 6A State Tournament, which the Bulldogs hosted. In the state semifinals, Greenwood scored 13 runs in the third inning en route to a 15-0 win against Jonesboro.
