The Arkansas Razorbacks announced their recruiting class of 2012.

Homebody Hogs sink Commodores

 

Those homebody Hogs did it again.

Now 16-0 at Walton Arena, the Arkansas Razorbacks knocked off nationally 25th-ranked Vanderbilt, 82-74 Tuesday night in a SEC game before a vocal 13,100 in their Fayetteville domain and a national TV audience watching ESPN.  They saw these Razorbacks be Arkansas’ first team since the 1994 national championship team to be 16-0 at Walton.

National Signing Day: Another solid recruiting class for the Razorbacks

 

Though apparently the initials DGB also could stand for Darn Great Ballplayer, they stand for Dorian Green-Beckham, rated by some recruiting services as the top prospect in the country before he declares his college choice on today’s start of the national signing period.

An Arkansas Razorbacks team that hasn’t won anywhere outside of Walton Arena and an Alabama Crimson Tide that hasn’t won anywhere its last four games are about to collide.

After 14 weeks, nine of them on the road, for the Barton Bears and Charleston Tigers it all comes down to one game at War Memorial Stadium this Friday night. It has been an impressive run for the young Bears who are seeking their first state championship since 1997.

he Barton Bears completed the long and winding road to the state championship game with an impressive 35-point second half against the Prescott Curley Wolves in the semifinals of the 3A Arkansas high school playoffs here Thursday night.  The contest was a tale of two halves as Prescott dominated the first two quarters to lead 19-7 at the intermission.

The record says the journey began way back on Sept. 2 at Frank McClellan Field against the DeWitt Dragons. Barton stuns favored Baptist

Arkansas Baptist football fans must be still scratching their heads after witnessing the unleashing of the Barton Bears in an old fashioned and thorough 42-7 whipping in the quarterfinal round of the Arkansas high school football playoffs here Friday night.  The win was 68-point turn around from the Sept. 23 meeting in which the Eagles blanked the Bears 33-0 at Frank McClellan Field.

Barton Bears gets rematch with Eagles

The Barton Bears, 9-3, will get an opportunity to extract a little revenge on the Arkansas Baptist Eagles, 11-1, tonight in the quarterfinal round of the Arkansas high school football playoffs. This marks the first time since 2003 that the Bears have reached the quarterfinals.
