Mary Todd Barnes, 91, died Wednesday, June 3, 2009 at St. Bernard’s Medical Center.
She was born Oct. 31, 1917 in McRae to the late William and Mable Todd. She was a retired farmer and a member of the Monette First Baptist Church. She was a member of Eastern Star of Blytheville Chapter, Home Demonstration Club of Manila, long time volunteer of Relay for Life, Hospice, Red Cross and Jonesboro Senior Citizens.
Survivors include a daughter, Rosa Lee “Micky” Darr of Searcy; eight grandchildren, Sandy Ann Copeland, Pat Darr Davis, Donna Copeland Sunshine, Brenda Darr Davenport, Billy Joe Copeland, Bradley Copeland, Mary Lee Copeland Cox and Brandi Flagg Williams; nine great-grandchildren, Mallory Davis, Micah Copeland, Jimi Copeland, Adam Tompkins, Emili Copeland, Krista Cox, James Williams II, Allison Williams and Nicholas Williams.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Tom Barnes; two daughters, Jane Ann Copeland and Nancy Jo Flagg; three sisters, Dorotha Barnes, Virginia Mae Barnes and Ruth Cranford Healy; and three brothers, William Todd Jr., J. V. Todd and Donald Todd.
A celebration of her life was held on Saturday, June 6, 2009 at the Monette First Baptist Church with Rev. Rusty Bird officiating. Burial was in Monette Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Gregg Funeral Home of Monette.
Pallbearers were James Williams, Doug Pickard, Kenneth Wilson, Ricky Smithee, Alan Henson and Harvey Smithee and honorary pallbearers were Bill Copeland, Les Williams, Jerry Barnes and Wayne Darr.
The family requests lasting memorial be given to the Relay for Life.

Mary Louise “Lucy” Wolfe Smith, 82, died Saturday, June 6, 2009 at Helena Regional Medical Center. She was born Jan. 28, 1927 in the Palmer Community the daughter of Jack and Loma Self Wolfe. She was a homemaker and a resident of Connells Point for 64 years.
Louise leaves her husband, J. R. Smith of Marvell; three sons, Lonnie Smith of Marvell, Eugene Smith of Helena-West Helena, Ray Smith and wife, Kathy, of Marvell; brother, L. J. Wolfe of Clarendon; a sister, Jane Kelly of Higdon; 10 grandchildren; and 29 great grandchildren
She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Jerry Lynn “Sid” Smith; two brothers, James “Pete” Wolfe and Cecil “Buddy” Wolfe; a sister, Velma “Moose” Schwab; and a grandson, Willis Ray “RayRay” Smith Jr.
Pallbearers were Dale Rowland, Mike Crisp, Marvin Sherrod, Johnny Deiss, Scott Short and Houston Snyder.
Honorary pallbearers were Jeffrey Cothran, Taylor Cothran, Ray Lynn Smith, Danny Ray Smith, Jason Ray Smith and Michael Smith.
Graveside services were held Monday, June 8, 2009 at Smalley Cemetery with Brother Harold Crisp officiating.
Arrangements were by Bob Neal & Sons-Brickell Funeral Home in Marvell.
