To the Editor:

This is long overdue. It seems some people were forced to tear down property due to vandalism or fire. Costing at times over $2,000 and they came out on the short end.
Some had to borrow money for the demolition. The party contracted to do this not only received the money but also all the materials which in turn were sold. To me this is a double standard. Hopefully others in this situation deal with the contractor and not the middleman. Did the person representing the contractor get a “kick back?”  If so, can both parties live with their conscience?
