Funeral services for Marcus D. Taylor," affectionately known as "Taylor Boy,” 31, of Little Rock and formerly of Marvell will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, June 20, 2009 at the New Haven M.B. Church with the Rev. Ronnie Young of Little Rock officiating. Burial will follow in the New Hope Cemetery in Coffee Creek. Visitation will be held tonight from 6-8 p.m. in the Robert Lee Brown Chapel.
Taylor was born Nov. 13, 1977 in West Helena. Marcus was the first-born child of Ardell Farr Sr. and Frances Taylor.
Marcus professed a hope in Christ during his youth at the St. Matthew-Gum Bottom Baptist Church in Marvell. For the past six years Marcus attended St. Mark Baptist Church.
Marcus received his education in the Marvell Public School System. He received his commercial driver's license in 2003 and in 2007. Marcus was a self-employed commercial truck driver.
On Oct. 5, 2003, he married Shanetta Wade. Marcus and Shanetta shared three children.
Marcus enjoyed his life to the fullest. He loved spending time with his children, hunting, fishing, horseback riding, farm life adventures, and riding children around in his big truck. Another pleasure Marcus enjoyed was traveling abroad with his family.
Preceding Marcus in death were his paternal grandparents, Nobel and Maggie Farr.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Shanetta of Little Rock; three children, Takylin of Marvell, Makiyah and Shamar Taylor of Little Rock; his mother, Frances Taylor of Little Rock; his father, Ardell Farr Sr. of Fort Worth, Texas; a brother; Ardell Farr Jr. (Kimberly) of Little Rock; his sisters, Naomi Young of Little Rock; Benisha Cox of Helena-West Helena, Toniel Farr of Elkhart, Ind.; maternal grandparents, B.J. and Cremolia Taylor; a nephew, Ahmari Farr; two special aunts, Laura Ford and Sharon Frazier; a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
